Guide to the Puerto Banus area of Costa del sol
This guide will give you the information you need to help you decide whether buying a property in the Puerto Banus area of Costa del sol is the right chice for you.
Between Marbella and Estepona lies Puerto Banus. Renowned as a holiday resort and home to the rich and famous, Puerto Banus offers one of the best year round climates in Europe. Puerto Banus was opened in May 1970 by the developer Jose Banus. Situated only 5km to the east of one of the Costa del Sol largest beach resorts, Marbella, Puerto Banus has become one of the most famous ports in Europe.
Until 10 years ago, Puerto Banus was so exclusive only a few people had actually heard of it, but in recent years ‘The Port’ has grown and what once consisted of just two roads and a marina has now developed into an International Resort. The focal point of Puerto Banus is, of course, its port, which has berths for 915 boats, including those belonging to world’s wealthiest individuals. The ostentation of the boats is only matched by that of the cars and the designer clothing and the grandfathers taking their granddaughters for a cruise round the port, well that is what it looks like anyway.
Puerto Banus still has a lot to offer visitors on less extravagant budgets and a visit to the port is one of the best things to do on the Costa del Sol.
